Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Customer", "you", or "your") and LessBill ("LessBill", "we", "our", or "us") governing your access to and use of the LessBill platform and related services ("Service"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are accessing the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Service description

LessBill is a cloud cost management platform that connects to your cloud provider accounts (including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure) using read-only access credentials to analyze your cost and usage data, identify waste and optimization opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations.

The Service provides:

• Cost analysis and visualization across connected cloud accounts
• Automated identification of idle, oversized, and underutilized resources
• Cost-saving recommendations with estimated savings and implementation guidance
• Tagging analysis and coverage reporting
• Budget and anomaly alerting
• A REST API for programmatic access to cost data and recommendations

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of any material changes that affect your use of the Service.

3. Account responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account
• Keep your password secure and not share it with any third party
• Notify us promptly at hello@lessbill.org if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account
• Ensure that any cloud access credentials you provide to LessBill are authorized for use with the Service
• Keep your contact information (including email address) current so that we can reach you with important notices

LessBill will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these requirements. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorized it.

4. Acceptable use

You may only use the Service for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
• Provide false or misleading information to LessBill or other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its infrastructure, or the accounts of other users
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use automated tools (scrapers, bots, or crawlers) to access or extract data from the Service without our express written permission
• Transmit malicious code, viruses, or any other harmful software through the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or the data contained therein
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our prior written consent

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately and without notice if we determine that you have violated these acceptable use requirements.

5. Payment and billing

Free plan. LessBill offers a free plan with limited features. No payment details are required to use the free plan.

Paid plans. Paid plan fees are charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on the billing cycle you select. All fees are stated in US dollars and are exclusive of any applicable taxes, which you are responsible for paying.

Payment method. You must provide a valid payment method to subscribe to a paid plan. By providing payment details, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees to that payment method. Payment is processed by Stripe. LessBill does not store your full payment card details.

Renewals. Paid plans automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings.

Refunds. We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused time on annual plans, except where required by applicable law. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at hello@lessbill.org within 30 days of the charge.

Price changes. We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

6. Termination

By you. You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings. If you cancel, your access to the Service will continue until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account and all associated data will be scheduled for deletion within 30 days.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if:

• You violate these Terms or our acceptable use policy
• We have reason to believe your account is being used fraudulently or in a way that may cause harm to us, other users, or third parties
• We are required to do so by applicable law or a competent authority
• We decide to discontinue the Service

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. We have no obligation to retain your data after account deletion, except where required by law.

7. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LessBill expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

LessBill does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of cost data, recommendations, or savings estimates provided through the Service. Cloud billing data is retrieved from your cloud provider's APIs and presented as-is; you should verify any significant financial decisions against your cloud provider's official billing records.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LessBill shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event shall LessBill's total aggregate liability to you exceed the amount you paid to LessBill in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or, if you are on a free plan, one hundred US dollars (USD 100).

8. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and LessBill regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings between us relating to the same subject matter.
